Christopher Meloni Joins True Blood

There will be a new vamp on Bon Temps! Christopher Meloni joins “True Blood”.

Next season of “True Blood” will not only offering a more exciting storyline, but also several new faces. Christopher Meloni is one of those new faces for the show’s season 5.

After being pursued since November, the former star of “Law & Order: SVU” had finally agreed to join the cast of this popular series from HBO.

According to executive producer Alan Ball, Meloni is slated to portray an ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill [Stephen Moyer] and Eric [Alexander Skarsgard] in his hands.

50-year-old Meloni was Detective Elliot Stabler on SVU for 12 seasons before making his exit last spring. Although he has not been seen much, he’ll be starring as a general in the feature “Man of Steel,” due out in 2013.
