This is what you get if you don’t obey one of the most important flight’s rules. Alec Baldwin was kicked off an American Airlines flight traveling from Los Angeles to New York on Tuesday for using his cell phone.
Once the cabin door was shut, the “30 Rock” actor was asked to turn off his phone when he was playing Words with Friends, as he had tweeted about it.
After speaking with flight attendants, he got up to use the bathroom and loudly slammed the door. The flight’s captain heard the loud noise and then had Baldwin removed from the plane. The incident had also been confirmed by an airport’s law enforcement official, but did not specify why Baldwin was removed from the flight, except to say it was between Baldwin and the airline.
Another passenger on the flight, former MTV Networks President and Chief Operating Officer Michael J. Wolf, first tweeted that Baldwin had been removed the plane leaving from Los Angeles International Airport.
Good thing for the 53-year-old actor, he wasn’t grounded for too long. He tweeted a few hours later that his next flight had “smarter”-looking flight attendants.
The official Twitter account of American Airlines told the Emmy winner that they are looking into the matter and asked him to send his contact information. With this incident, Baldwin became the latest celebrity to deplane early, joining Josh Duhamel, Kevin Smith and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong.
Obey the rules next time, Mr. Baldwin, it’s for your own safety!
