It took quite a long time to happen, but it was worth all the wait!

Michael Kors and his longtime boyfriend, Lance LePere, tied the knot on Tuesday in Southampton, New York.

According to Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), who first reported the news, the couple wed in a private ceremony on Dune Beach officiated by Southampton Mayor Mark Epley.

And in a statement released Wednesday to the fashion publication, the designer said: “To marry someone as wonderful and special to me as Lance, barefoot on a glorious beach is more than I could have dreamed of.”

51-year-old Kors had announced his plan to marry earlier this month, following the legalization of same-sex marriage in New York. And finally, he did it.

Kors can currently be seen alongside Heidi Klum, fashion editor Nina Garcia and advisor Tim Gunn on Lifetime’s “Project Runway,” Thursday nights at 9/8 C.
