Eddie Izzard Joins “The Good Wife”
It looks like that next season of “The Good Wife” will be packed with so many guest stars!
And the latest guest star who’s joining the cast is stand-up comedian Eddie Izzard.
Izzard will play Abbott Thrush, an upper-class English barrister brought in to fight Lockhart/Gardner in a libel case that finds its way into British court.
Talking about Izzard, co-creators and executive producers Robert and Michelle King said, “Eddie Izzard has the one thing we’re always looking for: enormous talent with both comedy and drama. We couldn’t be more excited to have him on the show!”
The 49-year-old actor will only appear in one episode, but the Kings had hinted that Izzard is welcome to reprise his role in the future.
With this new gig, Izzard is joining other guest-stars, such as; “House” alum Lisa Edelstein, and new SVU detective Kelli Giddish, who will return for at least one episode as Kalinda’s old friend, Sophia.
Izzard had previously appear in “Ocean’s Thirteen” and “Valkyrie,” and will next star in Syfy’s “Treasure Island,” opposite Elijah Wood and Donald Sutherland.
Season 3 of The Good Wife premieres on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 9/8c on CBS.
Welcome aboard, Eddie!
