It’s a boy for Jewel!

The singer and her husband, professional bull rider Ty Murray, have welcomed their first child together, on Monday evening in Texas.

The newborn was named Kase Townes Murray, arrived at 7 p.m. CST and weighed in at 7 lbs., 6 oz.

“Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby Kase Townes Murray into the world!” the proud parents wrote in a message on their official website.

The message continued, “We are overcome with happiness—it really is as great as everyone told us it would be—better even!”

The couple, who have been open about their trouble with conception and who have been married for three years, announced the pregnancy back in January.

But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. In March, Jewel was taken to the ER after the car she was driving was hit by a fire truck near her Stephenville, Texas, ranch.

Luckily, the 36-year-old singer was released from the hospital after tests concluded she and her unborn child were unharmed.

Jewel and Murray – co-founder of the Professional Bull Riders, nine-time world champion and a color commentator for Built Ford Tough Series broadcasts – wed in a beach ceremony in the Bahamas in 2008.

The “Foolish Game” crooner is currently serving as host and judge on Bravo’s new reality competition “Platinum Hit,” and will be releasing a children’s music album entitled “The Merry Goes ‘Round,” this August.
