After just five days on the theaters, “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” is already the year’s fifth-biggest domestic hit, with $162.1 million. Wow!

The third “Transformers” film was blowing up box-office records for the Fourth of July weekend and logging the best opening weekend of 2011 thus far.

The Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Hungtinglton-Whiteley’s flick grossed an estimated $97.4 million over the weekend and is expected to take in $372 million worldwide by Monday.

It sure raked in more earnings than the first film’s $133.3 million haul, but less than the $200.1 million the second Transformers raked in by Day 5. Also with this result, it became Shia LaBeouf’s sixth straight live-action No. 1 movie.

For revenues of other movies, here’s a look at Friday-Sunday’s top ten-grossing films (per estimates compiled by Exhibitor Relations):

1. Transformers: Dark of the Moon, $97.4 million
2. Cars 2, $25.1 million
3. Bad Teacher, $14.1 million
4. Larry Crowne, $13 million
5. Monte Carlo, $7.6 million
6. Super 8, $7.5 million
7. Green Lantern, $6.3 million
8. Mr. Popper’s Penguins, $5.1 million
9. Bridesmaids, $3.5 million
