It’s another separation for David Duchovny and Téa Leoni.

The sad news had been confirmed on Wednesday by Duchovny’s publicist, Flo Grace, but she didn’t elaborate the reason behind the separation.

The couple, who have been married since 1997, previously separated in 2008 for several months.

It was the same year that the former “The X-Files” actor entered a rehabilitation center to be treated for sex addiction. But they reunited and soon seemed closer than ever.

Duchovny and 45-year-old Leoni first met early in their careers when they were both interviewing for the same guest spot on the “Tonight Show.” They have two children; 12-year-old daughter Madelaine West, and 9-year-old son Kyd.

The 50 year-old actor currently plays a sex-mad writer on Showtime cable drama “Californication,” while Leoni’s film roles include “Spanglish” and “The Family Man.”
