Apparently, the wedding bells won’t be heard at Crystal Harris and Hugh Hefner’s wedding. Because there won’t be any wedding at all!

The 25-year-old Playmate had canceled the nuptials on Tuesday, just days before they were to tie the knot Saturday at the Playboy Mansion.

The sad news was announced by Hefner himself, through his Twitter account. He wrote, “The wedding is off. Crystal has had a change of heart.”

“After much deep reflection and thought I have decided to end my engagement with Hef,” Harris explained her reasons on her website. “I have the utmost respect for Hef and wish him the best going forward. I hope the media will give each of us the privacy we deserve during this time.”

Although it came as a surprise for many people, including Harris’s manager Michael Blakey, but the rep had also confirmed the news. He said, “I heard the sad news today this morning. The split was a mutual decision and the two remain good friends.”

The couple announced their engagement last December. More than 300 people had been invited to their big day, which called for a pink Romona Keveza gown and Torrance Bakery strawberry cake.

The breakup was reportedly sparked when the couple had an explosive argument at the Playboy Mansion. What caused it remains unknown, but resulted in Harris abruptly packing up and moving out of the house.

This would have been the first marriage for Harris and the third marriage for 85-year-old Hefner.

He filed for divorce in 2009 from his second wife, former playmate Kimberly Conrad, after separated for several years. He was previously married to Mildred Williams, whom he divorced in 1959.
