Jennifer Hudson is Writing a Book about Weight Loss
Jennifer Hudson is adding author to her resume.
The Academy Award-winning actress and singer has inked a deal with Dutton, an imprint of Penguin Group, to wrote a memoir about her struggles with weight.
The publishing house announced Tuesday that Hudson’s book will come out in January 2012, and will also expand on how she shed 80 lbs (36 kg).
29-year-old Hudson, who’s a contestant on season 3 of “American Idol,” has had her share of weight issues.
She was dubbed “the big girl” as she transformed her body for her Oscar-winning turn as Effie in “Dreamgirls” by gaining more than 20 lbs (9 kg).
Last year, the “Spotlight” singer signed on as a Weight Watchers spokeswoman and has since gone from a size 16 to a svelte size 6.
About her transformation, she once stated in an interview, “I’m in the best shape of my life! In my head, I am still the same weight I was before, It takes a while to get used to it.”
She then happily continued, “This is the way I want to be and the way I want to stay!”
Hudson released her second album, “I Remember Me,” in March. The set has sold 338,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Well then, good luck on the book writing, Jennifer!
