Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger Officially Join “The X-Factor”
It’s official! Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell are joining forces again!
The former “American Idol” judge has been signed on Sunday as the newest judge of “The X Factor.”
So with this new role, Abdul will reunited with Cowell on a talent show, once again.
Talking about her new responsibility, Abdul said, “I’m thrilled. It’s a show you don’t have to calculate or guess how you’re going to approach it.”
She also added, “I walk into this, it’s a new journey. It’s a brand new show and a new experience.”
Beside joining forces with Cowell, Abdul will join British singer Cheryl Cole and record producer Antonio “L.A.” Reid at the judging panel.
Meanwhile, the day before, Fox announced Saturday that former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and British TV presenter Steve Jones would fill the host part.
“These two are going to be great together,” series creator Simon Cowell said in a statement. “I have always wanted Steve to work with us; I think he is a real star. Nicole is fantastic. I loved working with her on the U.K. X Factor last year. She is gorgeous and super-talented.”
Cowell has spent more than a year putting together the celebrity line-up for his “X Factor” venture, which he announced in January 2010.
The show is due to air in the fall, offering a $5 million prize and a recording contract for the winner. The audition tour will start from Dallas on May 26.
So, are you excited about this U.S. version of “The X Factor”?
