Here’s a great news for fans of “How I Met Your Mother.” A certain California gurl will be an interesting guest star on the show. Can you guess who? Well, that certain gurl is pop star cutie, Katy Perry!

The Grammy-nominated singer is following Britney Spears’ footsteps as guest star on an episode of CBS’ hit comedy, as announced Thursday by the network.

CBS said that 26-year-old Perry will pop up on an episode titled “Oh Honey.” She will play the naive and gorgeous cousin of Zoey (Jennifer Morrison) who gets Ted (Josh Radnor) all hot and bothered to the point where he, Barney and the rest of the gang take to calling “honey.” The network didn’t detailed on when the episode will air.

Perry is known for her catchy songs, such as; “Hot and Cold” and “I Kissed a Girl.” Her latest single “Firework” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the fourth week in a row and “California Gurls” was named the best-selling digital song of 2010. She’s also still in honeymoon mode, after tying the knot with British comedian Russell Brand a few months ago.

“How I Met Your Mother” stars Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders. We can’t wait to see Katy sharing scenes with Ted, Barney, and the rest of the gang!
