It’s a happy new year for the Beckhams!

The famous soccer star announced that he and his fashion designer wife Victoria are expecting their fourth child this summer on his official Facebook account.

The news was also confirmed by their spokeswoman on Sunday, Jo Milloy who said in a statement, “David and Victoria Beckham are delighted to confirm they are expecting their fourth child in the summer.”

Milloy then added, “Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are very excited about the arrival of their new brother or sister.” No further details were provided, such as Victoria’s specific due date, or how far the pregnancy was advanced.

The announcement came on the same day that Beckham’s proposed loan move to English club Tottenhan Hotspur fell through, although he will train with the London team. The former Manchester United star has played 115 matches for England — a national record for an outfield player — and captained the team from 2000 to 2006. He played for Manchester United and Real Madrid before joining Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy in 2007.

35-year-old Beckham tied the knot with 36-year-old Victoria in 1999, when she was known as “Posh Spice” in the hugely successful girl band, Spice Girls. They are already the proud parents of three boys; 11-year-old Brooklyn, 8-year-old Romeo, and 5-year-old Cruz.
