Another wave of splits hit Hollywood!

First, there was the shocking split of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. Then, “Dexter” co-stars; Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter also gone separate ways. Now sadly to say, one of Hollywood’s hottest couple alive, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds had become the latest ‘victims’ of the wave.

In a joint statement released Tuesday through their publicist, Meredith O’Sullivan, the duo announced that “After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love, and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”

The 26-year-old actress and 34-year-old actor were engaged in May 2008 and married that September. Regarding their separation, an insider added, “The couple quietly split six months ago, and Johansson initiated the move. The actress began apartment-hunting in New York City and is currently in Jamaica with some girlfriends.”

Johansson, who’s a New Yorker, famous for roles in films such as “Lost in Translation,” “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” “Iron Man 2,” and “He’s Just Not That Into You.” Meanwhile, Canadian-native Reynolds is known for his role in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” had appeared opposite Sandra Bullock in “The Proposal” and will soon can be seen in “Green Lantern,” set for release next year.
