Eva Longoria and Tony Parker: Split!
Oh My God. This is shocking and heartbroken. :(
One of Hollywood’s perfect couples, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker are reportedly headed to Splitville on Wednesday, based on a shocking fact that the “Desperate Housewives” actress had filed court papers to divorce the basketball star.
Longoria filed for divorce from Parker in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences. The 35-year-old Latin beauty didn’t revealed the reason behind the split, only stated that “I still love my husband and I am sad that all of this is happening.” No exact date was listed on the paperwork as to when they separated.
In her legal filing, she requested that her name be restored to Eva Jacqueline Longoria, since she had taken Parker’s name when they married. She asked the court to require each side pay its own attorney fees, and also wants to receive spousal support from Parker but not pay any to him. Longoria’s spokeswoman, Liza Anderson, said the actress had no further comment.
A statement was posted on Longoria’s Twitter account addressing the divorce, saying: “It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other’s happiness.” The same statement also being tweeted by Parker, only changing “Tony” to “Eva.”
Speculations heated that 27-year-old Parker cheated on Longoria with another NBA wife. But according to several sources, although Parker exchanged naughty texts with a fellow basketballer’s wife, there was no physical relationship. “It was just texting,” a source said.
Parker, who recently signed a gazillion-dollar deal with the San Antonio Spurs, held a brief meeting with reporters outside his team’s locker room about an hour before a game against the Chicago Bulls. He made no hint as to what caused the split, and said, “It’s a difficult time right now for me and Eva. We got a joint statement and everything else is our private life.” Asked about speculation that Parker might have been involved with the wife of a former Spurs teammate, Parker replied: “That’s my private life.”
Longoria and the winner of three NBA championships were married in a civil ceremony in France on July 6, 2007. The next day, a priest married them in a church across from the Louvre Museum, followed by an exclusive bash at a storied French chateau. The two had a quick honeymoon in Turks and Caicos.
Parker, a three-time NBA All-Star with the San Antonio Spurs, made no hint as to what caused the split between him and the star of TV’s. But shared by Longoria’s longtime pal Mario Lopez, the marriage imploded a few weeks ago, when the actress found hundreds of text messages from another woman on Parker’s phone. She also confessed to her pal that Parker cheated on her once early on in their marriage, but that he remained in contact with the woman on Facebook.
We’re sorry to hear about the split, Eva… be brave!
