Is this a new ugly trend on Hollywood??

As the wave of separating couples hitting Hollywood scene, Christina Aguilera becomes the latest celebrity whose name is sadly swirling inside the tragic wave.

The singer and husband Jordan Bratman are following the footsteps of “heading to splitville” couples; Laura Dern and Ben Harper, then David Arquette and Courteney Cox. Each of their shocking separations came only several days apart.

29-year-old Aguilera has reportedly split from her music executive husband of nearly five years, Jordan Bratman. But although they are now living apart, the couple have not filed for divorce yet and are still hopeful to make things work on behalf of their son, 2 1/2-year-old Max. As Aguilera said in a brief statement, “Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever.”

According to a source close to Aguilera, the duo have been separated for a few months, but have not yet decided on whether they will divorce, because they were very much in love. Right now, the “Genie in a Bottle” singer is focusing to be the best mother for little Max.

The couple met in 2002 when 33-year-old Bratman was working at Azoff Music Management, which is Aguilera’s management company. After three years of dating, they tied the knot in November 2005 in a lavish ceremony at a Napa Valley estate with guests that included Sharon Stone.

The “Beautiful” singer is currently working on the soundtrack for “Burlesque” movie, in which she plays a small-town girl who ventures to LA and finds her place in a neo-burlesque club run by a former dancer – played by Cher. The movie is planned to be released next month.
