Tweeps, get ready to weep… you won’t read John Mayer’s tweets anymore!

As confirmed by his spokeswoman, the singer-guitarist had resigned from the microblogging site yesterday, and left behind more than his 3 million followers. It is said that Mayer has discontinued his Twitter account to head back to the studio, and prepare for his Battle Studies Tour.

Mayer had used Twitter for several months, to talk to fans about a variety of issues. He famously denied being a racist following a controversial Playboy interview and even used his account to invite University of South Carolina students to see a free show earlier this year.

The 32-year-old “Your Body is a Wonderland” singer wrote “What does this button do?” as his last tweet, and plans to communicate with fans via his blog in the future. Mayer isn’t the first star to leave Twitter. He’s the latest to join ex-Twitter addicts, which already had member such as; Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Amanda Bynes and LeAnn Rimes.
