It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and now there’s a new little sunshine too!
Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson, costars of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and real life husband and wife, have welcomed their first child together on Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for the couple says Olson gave birth to Alex Lee McElhenney at 12:52 p.m. Wednesday at the couple’s home in the Los Angeles area. The baby boy weighed in at 8 pounds, 7 ounces.
The 35-year-old actress went into labor Tuesday night at the Dodgers-Phillies game, therefore, making the anticipating parents to miss a Philadelphia Phillies victory. “I went into labor at the Phillies-Dodgers game on Tuesday night,” Olson said. “As soon as Ryan Howard hit a three-run home run, we felt comfortable leaving to go have our baby.” She also added, “We love him like crazy, even though he made us miss the second half of the game.”
33-year-old McElhenney and Olson tied the knot in September 2008 in Malibu. He is the creator-producer of FX’s “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and stars in the sitcom with Olson. The sixth season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia premieres Sept. 16 on FX.
