Woohoo! Bieber fever is now infecting TV!

After Canadian teen idol Justin Bieber sets the music world on storm, looks like the storm is now heading to the acting world. As reported on Thursday, the 16-year-old singer will be a guest star on next season of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”

CBS television had confirmed the news, in which Bieber is slated to play a troubled teen named Jason McCann. The character is faced with a difficult decision regarding his only brother. The pop singer will appear in the season premiere of “CSI” in September, and then make other appearances later in the year as his storyline concludes.

Bieber’s music video, “Baby,” has a record 250 million views on YouTube. He has come a long way, signed a record deal at age 14 after posting home videos on YouTube. He is currently on tour promoting his No.1 album “My World 2.0″.

“CSI” producers also thought him as world phenomenon. “Every 20 years, a phenomenon like Justin Bieber graces our world. We’d like to believe that the phenomenon of ‘CSI’ has had the same impact on popular culture. The opportunity to bring them together in the premiere is a great treat for our audience and all of its new viewers. This will be true event television,” executive producers Carol Mendelsohn, Don McGill and Anthony Zuiker said in a statement.

“CSI” is one of the most-watched drama series on U.S. television and is widely syndicated around the world. We think, adding Bieber could boost up the show’s popularity among teenagers. So, will you watch Bieber’s episode on CSI?
