Rob Lowe Has a Memoir Coming Up
Rob Lowe is not only good in acting, he’s now trying to be good in writing too.
The actor is taking on a new role as an author, as he will write about being an actor and father in an upcoming memoir titled “Stories I Only Tell My Friends.”
Announced by publisher Henry Holt and Company, the book is set for a May 2011 release. Holt president Stephen Rubin described the project as “a mid-career meditation on his four decades as an actor.”
The publisher also optimistically boasts that the book will actually be written by Rob himself, not a ghostwriter. And in more detailed description, the upcoming memoir is said will wax nostalgic on his “misunderstood” childhood in Ohio, his time as a teen idol, until his most recent role, as a father and husband.
Not only working on a book, 46-year-old Lowe is teaming with production company 44 Blue on a reality show project called Potomac Fever, which will feature young residents trying to make it in the city.
Lowe became a teen heartthrob in 1983′s “The Outsiders” and has amassed more than three dozen film credits since then. He is a star of the ABC drama “Brothers & Sisters” and recently appeared on the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation.”
