It looks like Christina Aguilera needs more time to do her comeback tour.
The pop diva released a statement through her rep on Monday, announcing that her upcoming summer concert tour has been moved to 2011.
Aguilera is currently busy with a new film and an upcoming album that squeezed rehearsal time, which resulting in a very limited time to prepare a tour. Rather than disappointing her fans, the Not Myself Tonight singer choose to postpone the tour altogether.
As the statement said, “The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date this wasn’t possible.”
The 29-year-old singer will appear in new movie “Burlesque,” due in theaters later this year, and she is currently promoting a new album “Bionic,” which is set for release on June 8. It will be her first album of new music since 2006′s “Back to Basics.”
The North American tour had been set to start in the middle of July. It was actually scheduled to kick off July 15 in Uncasville, Conn., and wrap up Aug. 19 in Irvine, Calif, with British singer Leona Lewis was set to open. But because of her new decision, a new tour will be announced later this year, and ticket refunds are available.
“Not Myself Tonight,” debuted in March on Aguilera’s official website and became available on iTunes in April. It gained No. 23 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Aguilera has also released a second single off her upcoming album, “Woohoo,” featuring rapper Nicki Minaj.
Please come back to the stage soon, Christina. We miss you!
