No more twist and turn on stage for Kate Gosselin!
After five weeks of arguments with her partner and harsh criticism of her robotic style, the reality star could go back to her own ‘plus 8′ now, as she has been eliminated Tuesday from “Dancing With the Stars,” leaving seven couples in the competition.
She and professional partner Tony Dovolani came into Tuesday’s results show with the week’s lowest score: 15 points out of 30 for a lackluster foxtrot to “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”. On Monday, judge Bruno Tonioli described her performance as “catatonic” and more deserving of a post-mortem than a serious critique. Tonioli even added, “I think Tony could have had more life out of a frock on a coat hanger.”
It was an emotional end of the road for 35-year-old Gosselin on the dancing competition show. She was too choked up to say her goodbyes, so her partner Dovolani was the one who gave the farewell first. Dovolani praised Gosselin, saying, “I’m very proud of Kate. ‘Cause I know she gets a lot of criticism out there and it is difficult—especially knowing my wife watching with three kids—she has eight kids and she’s a single mom, so I give her all the credit in the world for showing up. As exhausted as she was, she still showed up every day.”
He also added, “You showed America that it doesn’t matter how much things go against you, you still come out here and give it your best.” Then, tearfully Gosselin said, “Thank you for believing in me, probably more than I believed in myself. I love everyone that I met.” She apologizing for being ‘a crybaby’, and continued, “It was a great experience. I had a wonderful teacher.”
Gosselin, a mother of twins and sextuplets, found her fame as the reality TV-mom for several seasons with her ex-husband, Jon, in the hit TLC reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8.” The show collapsed as the couple’s marriage fell apart. She has been a strong draw for the ABC dancing show, but unfortunately became the fourth contestant to be dismissed from DTWS, following soap star Aiden Turner, astronaut Buzz Aldrin and actress Shannen Doherty.
Returning to dance on Monday’s episode are singer Nicole Scherzinger, Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek, actresses Pamela Anderson and Niecy Nash, reality star Jake Pavelka, sportscaster Erin Andrews and football star Chad Ochocinco.
