There are Spiderman, X-Men, Batman and others, but here’s another superhero you should be waiting for: Captain America. And to make it even more exciting, Chris Evans will play the role!

After being in talks for several weeks about who’s going to have the role, it is reportedly that 27-year-old Evans has signed on to be the next Captain America. It is said that Evans was just offered the job last week, but apparently, negotiations went quite smoothly.

From the list of names that were rumored being offered the chance; John Krasinski, Chace Crawford, Ryan Phillippe and most recently Channing Tatum, looks like Marvel Studios had finally picked their leading man.

Evans had previously worked for Marvel, when he played the role of Johnny Storm in two Fantastic Four movies. Sits at the director seat is Joe Johnston, the same guy who directed The Wolfman. The shots will start in England this summer, and planned to be released on summer 2011.

Beside Captain America, Evans will also star in romantic comedy What’s Your Number?, alongside Anna Faris. He also has the DC Comics adaptation The Losers in future projects.
