Hey Gleeks, here’s an awesome news! Glee cast is coming to the stage, live in concert!!
The show’s network, Fox, announced on Monday that the stars of hit series Glee will hit the road for nationwide tour this May. The “Glee Live! In Concert!” will perform in four cities, starts May 18 in Phoenix.
Let’s glee-ing about the tour, because every single member of New Directions will participate! They are: Lea Michele (Rachel), Cory Monteith (Finn), Amber Riley (Mercedes), Chris Colfer (Kurt), Kevin McHale (Artie), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina), Mark Salling (Puck), Dianna Agron (Quinn), Naya Rivera (Santana), Heather Morris (Brittany), Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) and Dijon Talton (Matt).
As show creator, Ryan Murphy explained, “The response of the fans to our little show has been so immediate and so gratifying, we wanted to get out and thank them live and in person. And what show lends itself more to a concert than Glee? We can’t wait to take this show on the road and the actors couldn’t be more excited to perform live for audiences in these four cities.”
Not only Murphy, leading actor Cory Monteith also made a statement, “This show has changed my life in so many ways. If you had told me a year ago that I’d be performing classic rock songs in concert theaters around the country, I would never have believed you. We are psyched!”
Then Michele, who plays Rachel in the series also added, “This has been such an extraordinary year for Glee and I can’t think of a better way to finish up the first season than performing live on stage with the cast.”
The tickets go on sale March 5 for American Express cardholders, and March 12 to the general public. The set-list includes fan favorites Don’t Stop Believin’, Somebody To Love, Jump, Don’t Rain on My Parade and Sweet Caroline. Makes you even more excited, right?
