Shrek Fourth Movie will Open Tribeca Film Festival
To open a film festival, leave it to donkey and green ogre.
Well, at least that’s what Tribeca Film Festival choose this year. The world premiere of Shrek Forever After will open New York’s Tribeca Film Festival on April 21.
Unlike the first three, the fourth (and reportedly the final chapter) installment of the green ogre’s adventures with his Princess Fiona and a couples of funny friends will be in 3D. Voices behind the characters are still pretty much the same; Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas.
The annual film festival, co-created by Robert De Niro, announced the selection Monday. It runs through May 2, with the rest of the its slate will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Shrek 3D follows Shrek’s latest adventure when he meet Rumpelstilskin, who tricks him into signing away the life he has known. This DreamWorks Animation feature will open in theaters in May 2 via Paramount.
Gosh, I can’t hardly wait for the movie!
