Apparently, the 90210 ZIP code is no longer the comfiest area for Rob Estes.

Reports has said that the actor who plays the principal in the remake series will make an exit. Well then, an insider from the show’s network, CW, has confirmed it now.

The confirmation said that 46-year-old Estes is leaving the series, because he could not agree on compensation for the upcoming season with the CW. This second season will be his last.

The show’s producers, who includes executive producer Rebecca Kirshner and her creative team, are willing to let Rob go because they would like to focus more on the younger castmembers and less on the older. An insider said, “They just don’t want the old people on the new show anymore.” Another source also added that producers are simply “trying to establish a separate identity for the new show.”

A rep for 90210 explained, “This is Rob’s last season on 90210. He’s a talented actor and we couldn’t have asked for a better Harry Wilson. But if fans tune in, they’ll understand why Rob’s character is leaving.” Rob Estes himself also stated in a statement, “This is my final season on 90210 and I wish the show, cast and crew nothing but the best. I am looking forward to spending time with my kids and exploring other opportunities.”

Alongside Estes, Jennie Garth who plays the legendary Kelly Taylor, will also leave the show. Her departure was already confirmed last week. Post 90210, Garth said that her upcoming plans are including a children’s book, work with the American Heart Association and a new small-screen project with husband, Twilight star Peter Facinelli.

Goodluck for the future, Rob and Jennie!
