Chris Brown Admitted Rihanna Cried After Hearing His Apologetic Song
Though Rihanna had previously denied ever hearing his apologetic song Changed Man, Chris Brown told in an interview on ABC’s 20/20 that she actually cried.
“I played the song for her… The day I did it… a month after the (altercation) situation. She called when she first heard the song. And I mean, I’m not trying to say–call her any liar or anything like that. But I played the song for her when I first wrote it. And she cried,” Brown told ABC News’ Robin Roberts.
On February 8th Brown and Rihanna had a quarrel, after she found out a text message Brown had received from another women. It went so bad that he punched her face several times. He has ever since been ordered to cease all communication with her and bound to a restraining order after pleaded guilty for assault charges.
Famous Girl is another song in Brown’s album Graffiti that is clearly inspired by his relationship with Rihanna. Its lyrics suggests that Rihanna had cheated on him prior to the February 8th incident.
“I was wrong for what I did,” Brown said. “And I would definitely say that it’s not something that I look past or look over. Something that’s really, really touchy. And, and like I said, I’m–I’m really sorry for–for what went down. And what happened.”
On March 1st, just three weeks after the incident, Rihanna met Brown in Miami. It was a “selfish” mistake, she stated, due to the wrong message she might have sent to her female fans. “I was still attached by love,” she said. “But I wasn’t thinking about the reality of the situation.” Shortly after, Rihanna ended their relationship.
