Taylor Swift Broke New Record: Longest-Charting Album!
Taylor Swift (N/A)
2009 is definitely Taylor Swift’s year!
Not only she has been nominated and received so many awards, the country sweetheart’s first album achievement is also amazing. As we quoted from Billboard, the 19-year-old singer has earned top honors as the artist with the longest-charting album on Billboard’s Top 200 charts.
The self-titled debut that was released in October 2006, now spends its 157th week on the chart, more weeks than any other album this decade. Swift already surpassing the 151-week chart life of Shania Twain’s Come On Over, and now she takes the honor from band Nickelback.
So with this steady endurance on the chart, Swift’s disc also becomes the longest-charting album from a female country artist in the Nielsen SoundScan era. Swift will soon could be seen hosting NBC’s Saturday Night Live on November 7, in which she also serving as the night’s music guest. Later that week, Swift will perform on the CMA Awards, where she is the youngest artist in history to be nominated for the organization’s Entertainer of the Year Award.
See, not even an award incident by Kanye West could stopped her. Big round of applause for you, Taylor. Congratulations!!
