Whitney Houston: I Look to You

When Whitney Houston said she will make a comeback, she makes sure her comeback is a great one!

Well, it was proven by Houston’s first studio album in seven years, I Look to You, that has debuted Wednesday at No. 1 on the album charts. The album that also topped the charts in Canada, Italy, Germany and Switzerland, is selling 304,801 copies during the week ended September 6, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

It became Houston’s fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, joining The Bodyguard soundtrack in 1993, Whitney Houston in 1986, and Whitney in 1987. By far, it was Houston’s best opening sales week since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991. Her previous album entitled Just Whitney, debuted at No. 9 in 2002 with 205,000 copies.

Besides Houston’s, five other new albums also debuted in the top 10. Here’s the complete list, based on Nielsen SoundScan stats:
