Unfortunately, the marriage of LeAnn Rimes and Dean Sheremet has come to the end of the road.

The country singer announced the news on her web site, saying that, “After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage. This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another. Thank you so much for all of your continued love and support – it is deeply appreciated.”

27-year-old Rimes and 29-year-old Sheremet have been married for seven years. They were separated after rumors spread about Rimes’s affair with actor Eddie Cibrian, whom she met while filming the Lifetime movie Northern Lights last fall. Cibrian’s marriage to Brandi Glanville is also on the edge, with the former Baywatch Nights star filed for divorce from his wife last week.

According to Rimes’s longtime friend and Dope Den Productions founder, Jeff Berger, “Rimes and Sheremet are doing their best to handle it as mature adults. Dean’s her best friend and that’s the crux of the issue; when you love and care about somebody who’s your best friend – how not to cause them pain.”

Berger also added, “Le and Dean are both great people and, unfortunately, going through a tough situation. But they’re doing what needs to be done in as amicable a way as possible.”

Meanwhile, maybe to take off the marriage problem from his mind, Sheremet is attending culinary school in New York . A message was posted on the former professional dancer’s Twitter page Tuesday: “Back to school kids, first time in 10 years.”

It’s a sad ending, but hopefully, the decision was taken as the best way for both parties.
