Not only David Cook rocks, he also run!
Although the last year’s American Idol winner is quite busy with his concert schedules, but 26-year-old Cook is willing to take a break and take part in another good cause act.
On May 3, he will serve as grand marshal in the Race for Hope 5K in Washington, D.C., and run the race as part of a team he set up. The race aim to benefit brain cancer research, and has already raised more than $40,000.
The story came from race co-chair Jeff Kolodin, who said that “He wants nothing from us at all. This transcends fame and money and everything else. He just wants to help the cause.”
Cook has a certain attention to brain cancer, which his brother Adam has been battling it for over a decade. He is close to Adam, and back then when he was competing in American Idol, Adam came especially to support him. He also once said that his winning at that time was also dedicated for Adam.
As the Light On singer said, “The opportunity to become involved in such a worthwhile cause is paramount for me and my family. I don’t run normally, but it seems a small sacrifice compared to what those who have fought cancer have endured.” He also added, “And the fact that my fans have rallied to raise so much in donations is the biggest compliment.”
Run, David, run! We will boost you with support!
