Scarlett Johansson Hoping To Do Another Album
Scarlett Johansson
It seems that Scarlett Johansson has so much faith in her singing career.
That’s because on an interview a few days ago, the actress turn singer said that she would look forward to returning to the studio to work on her sophomore album. As the 24-year-old said, “I would love to do another album.” Hmm…, looks like Johansson got some confident, although her debut album was not a fan favorite.
Johansson’s debut album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, was released last May. The album debuted on the charts at #126, selling a little 4,000+ copies in its first week. As of October 15, 2008, the album has sold 23,421 copies worldwide. Consists of ten Tom Waits covers and one original tune titled “Song for Jo,” the album received very mixed reviews, balanced between the nice and bad reviews. The selling is not very good actually, but apparently, it didn’t hold Scar Jo back.
The actress who played Mary Boleyn in The Other Boleyn Girl, also shared her plans for the future album. Johansson would like to focus on original material, as she said, “I don’t think I’d do covers, so it’d be a project that I have to dedicate myself to. I feel like that’s something for the future.” But if she were -once again- to cover another artist, Johansson says she would like to sing songs by the poet Leonard Cohen.
Johansson is already a quite busy actress, as her latest movie, Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona, hit the theaters not so long ago. She will also soon be seen in The Spirit, due in theaters on Christmas Day. Next year, Johansson will appear in romantic comedy He’s Just Not That Into You. Other than movies and music, Scar Jo is now happily married to actor Ryan Reynolds. Johansson is one busy girl!
Well then, get ready for more music from Scarlett Johansson!
