Rihanna Cancels Her Concert in Indonesia
A heartbreaking news for Rihanna’s fans in Indonesia!
The Umbrella mega-hit singer was supposed to have her concert in Jakarta, but the cancellation announcement came up yesterday, just a day before the D-day (11/14). RiRi was scheduled to play a sold-out show for 6,000 people in the Indonesian capitol, but she is afraid for her safety. It was mainly cancelled due to security concerns in Indonesia.
Rihanna recently wrapped up the Australian leg of her world tour. Jakarta is her next destination, but the 20-year-old Barbadian singer decided to scrap the show following a travel advisory that was issued in the country, following the execution of three Islamic militants last weekend who were convicted in the 2002 Bali bombings. Prior to their deaths, the militants encouraged followers to launch more attacks.
Speaking in a press conference, event promoter Troy Waroka said, “They said Indonesia’s security is not supportive. The concert will be postponed until January or February.” Waroka said full refunds would be made available for ticket holders who didn’t wish to wait.
Rihanna said please don’t stop the music, but apparently she’s stopping hers in Jakarta. Well I guess, her fans should just be patient waiting for a reschedule. Finger crossed!
