Nicole Kidman Will Star in a New Movie Called The Danish Girl

Nicole Kidman is one bold actress with an unusual roles she choose to play. This time, the actress is going to be a transsexual.

Not only became a transsexual, Academy award-winning actress, Nicole Kidman will also be married to Charlize Theron. A gorgeous couple, don’t you think? Kidman will act as the world’s first post-op transsexual. This Australian-born actress will star in and produce The Danish Girl, based on the true story of Danish artists Einar and Greta Wegener.

Kidman will have the role of Einar, while Theron played as Greta. Their marriage took a sharp left turn after Einar stood in for a female model that Greta was set to paint. When their portraits become wildly popular in 1920s Copenhagen, Greta encouraged her husband to adopt the female guise. What began as a harmless game led Einer to a metamorphosis and landmark 1931 operation that shocked the world and threatened their love.

The movie will be directed by Anand Tucker, who previously done Shopgirl. It is adapted by writer Lucinda Coxon from David Ebershoff’s 2000 Viking bestseller. His debut novel of the same name is a fictionalized account of the Wegeners’ true story. Pre-production has begun on the indie film, but no details on a principal photography start date have been disclosed.

Kidman won an Oscar for her role in The Hours, back in 2003. Kidman was playing a lesbian character in the movie, it earned her the award and beside her acting, she got praised for her face changing (by the awesome make up of making her nose bend). Kidman is now happily married to country singer Keith Urban and has just recently became a mother of daughter Sunday Rose.
