Natalie Cole is Taking Treatment During Tour
Natalie Cole
Natalie Cole is one strong singer!
The Unforgettable singer was hospitalized last month after suffering a setback in her battle against Hepatitis C, but Cole is now already back on tour. The Grammy-winner singer shared her experiences and the way she deal with the disease when caught in Los Angeles at a CD signing for her new album, “It feels great to be back! I feel sturdy and strong.”
Cole is now still battling with kidney problems, and must undergo dialysis three times a week, three hours a day. “The dialysis is to wash my blood, to keep my kidneys functioning,” she explained. “When they put me in the hospital, [my kidneys were] only about 8 percent [functioning].” Her determination to keep making music was still strong as it used to be, and more thankfully for her voice condition, “And my voice is still here! It’s almost like a miracle because [the treatment] didn’t affect my [singing].”
The daughter of music legend Nat King Cole described battling the liver disease as her ‘biggest challenge’ ever. She said, “I’ve never been through anything like this. I’ve never been this ill.” but then she added, “I love what I do so much. I just keep going. Not much can bring me down.”
58-year-old Cole was just released her latest album, Still Unforgettable, on September 9. The first single and video of the album is another virtual duet with her father, a cover of his 1951 hit Walkin’ My Baby Back Home. Good luck for the tour Natalie, and keep it strong girl!
