Linkin Park Canceling Their China Tour
Linkin Park Canceled Tour on China (starpulse.com)
Not so good news for Linkin Park’s fans in China! The band is canceling its China tour because lead singer Chester Bennington has suffered a back injury.
On Tuesday, Linkin Park posted a statement on their official web site saying that the band was canceling shows scheduled for October in Beijing, Shanghai, the central city Wuhan and the southern gambling enclave Macau. The band also canceled its show in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. Although the statement is quite informative, but the band didn’t shared details on how Bennington suffered the injury, though.
The concerts were actually aimed to be a fundraisers for victims of May’s deadly earthquake in China’s Sichuan province. LP’s members were moved by the tragedy, and want to do something about it. And now, even though the concerts are won’t be happening, the band said it will still donate to reconstruction efforts, with the promoter of its Chinese concerts, Emma Ticketmaster, also chipping in and the World Bank matching the band’s contributions. Such a good deed indeed.
Beside busy trying to help those in need, the band is now preparing for new album planned to release next year. Too bad they cannot perform, but hopefully Chester will soon be okay. Get well soon, Chester!
