So much lovey dovey news today!

Another happy couple stepping one notch up in their relationship. One of the legend in rock music, a member of band “Van Halen”, Eddie Van Halen is engaged to his girlfriend/manager Janie Liszewski.

It was reported that the 53-year-old guitarist proposed to 38-year-old Liszewski on August 4 while they were vacationing in Hawaii. Van Halen dropped to one knee and popped the question in a private room at Tiffany’s. The couple plan to wed June 2009. According to a close friend, “They are happy, healthy, very much in love and looking forward to living life together forever. They are devoted to each other and to experiencing life in a whole new, positive and passionate way”.

This will be the second marriage for Van Halen, and first for Liszewski. He was married to actress Valerie Bertinelli on 1981. But then on 2002, they announced that they had been separated since October 2001. Bertinelli filed for divorce on December 2005 which was finalized on December 20, 2007. From his first marriage, Van Halen had a 17-year-old son, Wolfgang ‘Wolfie’ William Van Halen.

Back in 2002, this co-founder of Van Halen announced that he had recovered from tongue and mouth cancer. He also said that he has lost one third of his tongue, though his speech is virtually unaffected. And despite his battles with oral cancer, Eddie has been photographed in public as recently as June 2006 smoking cigarettes. That’s definitely not a treatment, Eddie!

Well, anyway, we’re happy for the couple on their good news. Gosh, love is everywhere! Congrats both!
