Natalie Cole Hospitalized Because of Hepatitis C Setback
Natalie Cole
Grammy Award-winning singer and the daughter of the legendary Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, has been hospitalized in New York after suffering a setback in her battle against Hepatitis C, as said by her rep last Friday.
Her spokeswoman shared the singer’s condition, “She has had a setback and is in the hospital in New York. We expect her to make a full recovery. She will be in the hospital a few more days and then will be sent home for bed rest”. Cole’s chemotherapy treatment for the liver disease had made her postponed all her concert dates and other appearances scheduled for October.
58-year-old Cole announced in July that she had been diagnosed with Hepatitis C and that she probably contracted the liver disease from drug use more than 30 years ago. She has been free of the hepatitis C virus since starting treatment this summer, because just like her doctors said at the time she was responding well to treatment, including chemotherapy, even though she was suffering “significant side effects”, including fatigue, muscle aches and dehydration.
It is reported that Cole will return to her home in Los Angeles in the coming days and will be on a month-long bed rest so she can recuperate. She was working on her new album that features a new duet via electronic technology with her late father Nat King Cole as well as the song “Come Rain or Come Shine”.
May your health getting better and better Miss Cole, good luck for the new album. God Bless!
