Britney Was Back on VMA and Brought Back Three Moonmen!

Britney was back on VMA! Although her performance had no surprises like it was first promised by MTV, but glad to see Miss Brit looking decent and beautiful last Sunday.
Spears opened the 25th annual of MTV’s Video Music Awards, live from Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, in a vintage silver Versace mini-dress after being escorted from her nearby dressing room.
She took center stage, clutched the microphone tight, shielding her lower face with her microphone and announced, “Thank you so much. Thank you for all the love. I’m here tonight to celebrate a very important birthday, the 25th anniversary of the VMAs. This is the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and it starts right now”.
It was a brief moment, and after Spears left the stage, Rihanna launched into her hit “Disturbia” with a goth-themed entourage touting glow sticks and leather. The Barbados beauty became the first performer of the night. Not long after that, Spears back on stage to receive her first ever Moonman. After being nominated so many times over the years but never brought home any, finally Britney Spears had the honour to accept the Moonman for best female video for her song “Piece of Me”.
Spears gave a brief speech, thanking God for “just blessing me like this”, calling out her two sons and dedicating the award to her fans. “This is for you,” Spears said. And not only she got one, but Spears brought home three Moonmen, all for her song “Piece of Me”. She got the other two from Best Pop Video, and the ultimate category, Video of the Year.
Besides Spears, Chris Brown was also got a Moonman, Best Male Video for his “With You” video. While sexy girls of Pussycat Dolls got their Moonman for Best Dancing in a Video. Linkin Park was also a winner for Best Rock Video. More winners could be seen in on MTV website.
The show was hosted by British comedian Russell Brand, who gave some sarcastic political jokes, described U.S. President George W. Bush as a “retarded country fella … In England, George Bush wouldn’t be trusted with a pair of scissors.” Brand also joked about the Jonas Brothers and their purity ring. Not everybody laughing, though.
But overall, a pretty good show, and definitely a great one for Britney Spears! Congrats for your three Moonmen, Brit!
