Joss Stone Made Her Television Debut in ‘The Tudors’
British soul singer, Joss Stone, is stepping slowly but sure to the acting world.
She launched her debut in late 2006 with the fantasy adventure film “Eragon”, where she played as the witch ‘Angela’. And now the ‘Spoiled’ singer ready for her major role in Showtime’s drama “The Tudors”. Stone will play Henry VIII’s fourth wife, Anne of Cleves. while Henry is played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
The drama will tell story of a daughter of a German nobleman, Anne was betrothed to Henry in a marriage treaty between the Cleves Court and the king’s chancellor after Henry was shown a portrait of her. Upon Anne’s arrival in England, Henry was disappointed in her looks and soon found a legal way to have the marriage annulled.
Stone was also played as a lesbian named Stephanie in the upcoming British romantic comedy Snappers. As she signed up in March this year, she shared her thoughts, “I just wanted to challenge myself. There are things in the film that are going to really push the boundaries, and that excites me! I can also confirm there will be a long lingering French Kiss, but it won’t be with a male!”.
In addition to acting, she will produce the film’s soundtrack. “Snappers” will premiere at the English Riviera Comedy Film Festival in September 2008.
