Cosmopolitan chief-editor quite the scene
Cosmopolitan chief editor Helen Brown dead at the age of 90! She was an American author, publisher and businesswoman. First she was famous for her book ” Sex and the Single girl”, it was published in 28 countries. In 1965 she became chief editor of famous magazine Cosmopolitan. She also was one of the fighter for sexual women freedom. She left Cosmopolitan in 1997.
In September, 2008, she was named the 13th most powerful American over the age of 80 by Slate magazine.
As reporters said, Brown dead at the McKeen Pavilion Medical Center in New York after a brief hospitalization.
New York Mayor Michal Bloomberg says: “Today New York City lost a pioneer who reshaped not only the entire media industry, but the nation’s culture. She was a role model for the millions of women whose private thoughts, wonders and dreams she addressed so brilliantly in print.”
She had a brilliant career and also had long and happy life with her husband more than 50 years.
