The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined many other royals from different parts of the world for a special lunch to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee today.
Kate was wearing a 1,200 pink Emilia Wickstead dress with pleated skirt as she was looking entirely at ease while mingling with the international royals. She chatted warmly with Princess Charlene of Monaco and shared a joke with the King of Jordan and his wife.
In the Diamond Jubilee Party, there were 24 Kings and Queens, one Emperor, a Grand Duke and a Sultan. Eight princesses, an Emir and a lone Empress added a further layer of gravitas to the mix.
Today’s World Sovereign’s lunch at Windsor Castle as they gathered to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. It was almost certainly the largest gathering of crowned heads of state since the coronation of Queen in 1953.
However, the occasion was not all full of joy as the whole joyousness was overshadowed by a growing row about some of the guests who are facing controversies. This sparked demonstrations outside the Buckingham Palace, where another lavish black tie dinner was arranged later in day. Prince Charles was there to attend some of the lunch guests.
The Queen has spent her last 60 years without creating any such political controversy but this time she found herself in the midst of political accusations as she made a huge error of judgement by dining with King of Bahrain. King of Bahrain is accused of a catalogue of human rights violations in his regime.
